About Solna
Founder’s Statement
Sol is a word nearly universally understood to mean sun—simple, clear, and recognized across cultures.
Solna was built with that same intention.
A quiet standard.
Consistent, understood, and dependable.
For me, the name is also personal.
It reflects both my Scandinavian heritage and my daughter’s Native American heritage—two parts of my life that shaped how I think about home—and the responsibility that comes with building it.
The sunburst mark reflects that intersection.
More than that, it represents a return to clarity, warmth, and thoughtful craft in construction.
This didn’t come from theory.
It came from experience. From years in an industry that didn’t always make space for how I think, how I work, or the level of care I believe construction deserves.
I could have walked away, convinced I wasn’t the right fit for the way the industry was practiced.
Instead, I chose to take what I had learned and bring it into the light.
To build something more intentional.
More thoughtful.
More aligned with how construction should feel—for both the client and the people doing the work.
Early in my career, I was handed a literal shoebox of receipts and asked to piece together job costs after the fact—across multiple projects.
It was the kind of situation many people in construction would recognize—a contractor managing several jobs at once, running everything from a truck, with costs addressed only after the work was already in motion.
At the time, it felt unusual.
Over time, I realized it wasn’t.
It reflected something larger—an industry that had accepted disorganization and reactivity as normal.
For years, I tried to change that from within—pushing for better systems, clearer budgets, and a more thoughtful process.
Eventually, I realized it didn’t need to be forced into the wrong environment.
It needed the right place to exist.
Solna became that place.
A way of working that values preparation over reaction.
Clarity over assumption.
And respect for both the client and the people doing the work.
Here, trades are treated as professional partners.
Clients are given transparency and clarity.
And decisions are made thoughtfully rather than reactively.
When construction is approached with discipline and respect, something shifts.
The process becomes calmer.
The results become stronger.
And the experience becomes something people can feel good about.
That is the purpose behind Solna.
Construction practiced with intention.
Construction brought into the light.
Construction, Reimagined.
Jessica Dickhaus
Design & Project Support
Jessica Dickhaus contributes design insight, organization, and project coordination across Solna projects. With a background in formal design studies, she brings a thoughtful eye for spatial relationships, materials, and architectural detail.
Working closely with Casey throughout the planning and construction process, Jessica helps translate ideas into clear documentation, organized project systems, and thoughtful design decisions. Her ability to understand both aesthetic intent and construction practicality helps ensure that projects remain cohesive, buildable, and well organized from concept through completion.
Her ability to think through both design intent and construction logistics often means that many planning conversations arrive at clarity faster than expected.
Jessica’s collaborative spirit, attention to detail, and natural optimism bring a steady sense of energy and support to the Solna process.
Casey Yazzie Bauer
Founder
Casey Yazzie Bauer founded Solna to bring a more intentional approach to residential construction.
Over nearly two decades in both commercial and residential renovation, Casey has guided projects from early feasibility through construction completion. Her work focuses on translating design ideas into clear construction strategy so that projects are not only compelling in concept but thoughtfully executed in the field.
At Solna, Casey leads project planning, construction strategy, and client collaboration, working closely with a trusted network of designers, craftspeople, and technical partners to deliver carefully executed renovations.
Clients often describe Casey as highly organized and refreshingly direct—someone who believes construction should feel structured, understandable, and far more predictable than its reputation might suggest.
Our Trade Partners
Construction is a collaborative craft. Each Solna project is executed with a carefully selected group of tradespeople, suppliers, and technical partners who bring deep expertise to their work.
These relationships are built on mutual respect, clear communication, and long-standing professional trust developed over many years in the industry.
The craftspeople working in a client’s home are not simply subcontractors — they are valued partners in bringing each project to life.
Solna believes that the quality of a project is directly shaped by the people involved in building it. For that reason, every trade partner invited to participate in a project is someone whose work, professionalism, and integrity we trust. Simply put, no one is invited into a client’s home on a Solna project unless we would trust them in our own.
